A Legacy of Helping Generations of Health Science Students

Growing up in Greeley in the 1960s and 1970s as an only child, Dr. Mary Jo Drew ‘79 had, as she put it, an idyllic childhood. She had many friends to spend time with in her neighborhood and a nearly insatiable curiosity.

Giving Back: Scholarship Supports Student-Athletes and Leaders

Mark and Tammy Berven are both UNC alumni, but they didn’t meet on campus. They met at a family wedding over the summer, just as Tammy was getting ready to start her first year at UNC, and after Mark completed his first year.

Sharing the UNC Experience

Jennifer (McHugh) Taylor ’87 and Dan Taylor ’86, of Monument, Colo., are unabashedly proud of UNC and deeply appreciate the experiences they had as students there. They recently established the Daniel and Jennifer Taylor Family Scholarship Endowment through an estate gift currently valued at $375,000, in hopes that others will be able to experience UNC and Bear life.

Sharing a UNC Experience with Future Students

Raised by two parents who were teachers and who always taught him to value education, Russell Iverson knew he wanted to go to college, even if he wasn’t exactly sure what he wanted to study. He studied at Morgan Community College for two years before transferring to UNC and deciding to study business.
